Student focuses on photography

BANKSIA Secondary College student Roseanne Sideras has her sights firmly set on a career in photography.
After winning the secondary school division of the Warringal Shopping Centre photography competition, Roseanne is keen to turn her passion for photography into a career.
"The photo I entered in the competition was taken a couple of years ago in Queensland when I was visiting my grandfather," Roseanne said.
"He's been a photographer all his life and has helped me along the way with tips and advice about how to take the best shots."
Roseanne's winning landscape was shot in black and white, capturing three trees, as well as the judge's eye.
At an awards function last Sunday she received a year's free membership at the Ivanhoe Photography Club and a $75 gift voucher to spend at Warringal Shopping Centre.
When she completes her VCE, Roseanne plans to return to Queensland and work with her grandfather before starting a photography course in Melbourne.
