MEAN OLD WITCH

by Carly Tucker

Once upon a time in a fairy land,
lived an old mean witch with a hook for a hand.
This old witch travelled far and high
looking for kids for her home made pie.

One day the witch saw kids in the forest
dancing and singing their own little chorus.
As the witch jumped and gave the kids a fright,
the two kids screamed with all their might.
Then the witch caught them in a quick swipe,
and said, "Now you can sleep in a cage all night."

The kids hugged and had to say
"This little cottage is made of hay."
As they were glancing
the witch came prancing
and gave them chicken bones for their supper.

The child kept a chicken bone,
along with a stone.
As the witch slept,
the boy unlocked the cage and crept.
The child took a match
from the witch's batch
and crept out quiet as a mouse,
lit the match and burnt down the house.

As the fire went out,
the kids gave a shout.
When they saw the old witch's hook,
which they just had took
and buried it forever.

They were rewarded with a crown,
and had to wear it into town.
