
Towards the end of 1996, renovations were made to
the top floor of the main building outside the Art rooms.
Entrance doors were built across the corridor to allow security
for student works to be displayed on an on-going basis.
The Banksia Gallery holds regular exhibitions, of not only senior work requirements and assessment tasks, but also of junior and middle school artworks.
The Gallery was
officially opened by a senior Art lecturer at Melbourne
University who had previously been an Art teacher at the former
Heidelberg High School.

The opening was attended by
many proud parents who took the opportunity to view their
children's work, among them 3-dimensional building models.

The works obviously belong to the students, and they take them
home at the end of each year. It is a concern for us that in so
doing, the College loses many pieces of art of great merit. In an
attempt to preserve their image for posterity, we present a Cyber
Gallery of some of the best examples of artwork done at the
College in recent years:
